Avon C50 Configurable CBRN Mask Wins Malayan Police Contract
Avon Protection has announced its C50 configurable mask has been sourced by the Malayan Police as part of its civil riot upgrade programme. Designed to give optimum respiratory protection to law enforcement and police teams, the Avon C50 is the complete next generation CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) and is a widely sourced mask for first line defence scenarios.

The initial contract is for the supply of 530 C50s with VPUs and filters, which will be used for riot control and to replace their current generation of mask. In addition, the force has also taken delivery of Avon-Camelbak hydration systems.
The C50 CBRN mask has been developed by Avon Protection specifically for police and law enforcement communities requiring NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) or CE certifications, making it the most versatile choice available for purchase by law enforcement, government agencies, hazmat and first responders.
The innovative design enables the user to function effectively in the operational area, whether it’s for battlefield CBRN protection, specialist law enforcement or counter terrorism operations. With the appropriate filter the C50 protects against a range of CBRN threats including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals (TICS), toxic industrial materials (TIMS), biological and radiological hazards, riot agents and nuclear environments.
Available with either a right or left handed filter mount, the dual port provides convertibility to a right or left handed user. It gives the best possible sighting position for shoulder-mounted weapons. The C50 CBRN mask when used with two filters provides superior airflow and reduced user breathing resistance.
