Defence Minister Meets Welsh Companies

During a visit to Wales, Peter Luff MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology met with leading Defence Companies in Wales to discuss the government’s consultation paper on equipment, support and technology for the UK’s defence and security.
 
At a meeting held in Cardiff, Peter Luff met with representatives from BCB International Ltd, BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Qinetiq, Cassidian and Airborne Systems to gain a better understanding of the capabilities and expertise Defence companies in Wales can offer.
 
Following the meeting, Andrew Howell, the Managing Director of the multi-award winning Cardiff-based military survival equipment specialists, BCB International, said: “We thank the Minister for meeting with us to discuss the Government’s Green Paper which is of great importance for the future of the UK’s defence and security.
 
“Peter Luff recognised that Defence SMEs here in Wales like BCB International Ltd are a source of innovation and excellence that benefit our Armed Forces.
 
“I was pleased to hear the Minister confirm that this Government is absolutely committed to SMEs that can offer value for money equipment, getting a fair slice of the Defence spending cake.”
