Enterprise Control Systems Ltd Buys Phoenix Aerospace

INTENT on extending its capabilities and continuing its successful and rapid growth, Enterprise Control Systems (ECS) has purchased aviation systems design specialist Phoenix Aerospace for an undisclosed sum.

Aviation Systems Design Specialists

Previously known as Phoenix Aviation Design, Phoenix Aerospace is an approved provider of EASA Part 21 design services for all types of avionics and mission systems, from simple navigation and communications through to complex and demanding police or Special Forces mission equipment.

The company also provides EASA Part 145 for avionics maintenance, and is a trusted supplier to Police and OGDs in the UK and overseas and also has GCAA (Gulf CAA) design approval.

The tie up will enable ECS to offer integration services as part of its one-stop solution for air-to-ground datalink systems. The Northamptonshire firm has dominated the UK Security Sector for more than ten years with a range of air-to-ground and ground-to-ground radio links based on the Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) technique.

It will also enable Phoenix to expand into new facilities in Crawley and continue as an autonomous business.

ECS MD Colin Bullock said “This complementary arrangement will enable either company to offer a sole source contracting approach to end users wishing to enhance the surveillance/ communication capability of their existing aircraft.”

Tony Okill, Phoenix MD said “The new expansion of Phoenix is due to be completed by the end of May 2012 and enable us to offer much enhanced design facilities to our client base.”
