Explotrain Celebrates Product Launch of New IED Simulation Technology
Compressed Air Simulator Adds New Dimensions to Training Capabilities
Pneumatic IED Simulator - XP-360™
Explotrain® LLC announced the introduction of their pneumatic IED Simulator, the Model XP-360™, as a complementary non-pyrotechnic technology to their X-0™ Series of Explosive Blast Simulators. The XP-360 utilizes either compressed air or CO2 and a patented technology to release over 400 cubic inches of air in less than five milliseconds. The result is a tuned shockwave effect and loud simulated explosive blast offering unique training capabilities.
Explotrain’s president, C. Dean Preston, said,” We are very excited about the increased training opportunities this IED Simulation technology provides for our customer. You can now simulate explosive effects both indoors and inside vehicles making the XP-360 ideally suited for active shooter and MOUT based scenarios. The impact of the shockwave also adds a new haptic dimension to training methods allowing you to train your students in a more psychologically effective manner”.
Explosive Blast Simulators
Since the development of their training system and Model X-01™ Explosive Blast Simulator in 1999, Explotrain has invented and produced much of the technology used to train troops in the areas of Explosive Ordnance Disposal and IED Defeat. The XP-360 is available for purchase through various government contracts or by contacting Explotrain directly. The pneumatic non-pyrotechnic technology used in the XP-360 will provide military and law enforcement training instructors new methods to further increase the realism and effectiveness of their efforts.
