FAUN MAKES TRACKS IN AMERICA

FAUN TRACKWAY – the defence division of North Wales based FAUN ZOELLER Ltd – has opened a new office in Washington DC, USA.

Located in the heart of the capital’s defence community, the office will help the business – part of the German owned KIRCHHOFF group – spearhead its expansion into North America.

The business also announced that it has appointed Mike Holdcraft as Vice President Business Development for North America at TRACKWAY as he takes up a permanent position at the company’s new DC headquarters, leading its sales programme throughout the region.

FAUN TRACKWAY produces portable aluminium roadways and runways and supplies over 40 different armed forces worldwide.

The opening was celebrated by a launch event last week at the British Embassy in Washington DC where special key note speeches were delivered by the UK’s Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology Peter Luff and Bill Clinton’s former Secretary for Veteran Affairs Togo. D West.

Alun Jones, managing director of FAUN TRACKWAY, said: “Opening a new office in the US is an important strategic move in our long-term plans for growth. Welsh Government Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science Edwina Hart added: “This landmark office opening is not just a milestone for one company but for all of Welsh manufacturing. By breaking new ground in North America, FAUN TRACKWAY is ensuring that it can continue to invest in Llangefni while sowing the seeds for continued overseas growth, and flying the flag for Welsh engineering excellence on the global stage.”

TRACKWAY has already established strong links with the US following introductions to the Pentagon’s comparative technology office in Washington DC by Dan Cecchin, Senior Vice President at the Welsh Assembly government in the USA.

The company has also taken part in various trade missions in the States and has collaborated with the US military on designs for a new version of its Aircraft Landing Mat (ALM) – a temporary runway solution.
