L-3 Link Simulation & Training Awarded Contract for the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Contractor Operations and Maintenance Services Program

L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy for the F/A-18 Contractor Operations and Maintenance Services (COMS) program. Under an initial one-year award, which includes four potential contract option years, L-3 Link is providing F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet training device support and instructor staff.

The scope of the program calls for L-3 Link to operate and maintain 30 F/A-18 aircrew and 24 maintenance training devices installed at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana, Va.; NAS Lemoore, Calif.; Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, Calif.; and MCAS Beaufort, S.C.

L-3 Link is supporting aircrew training devices that include 14 F/A-18E/F Tactical Operational Flight Trainers (TOFTs), 13 F/A-18C/D TOFTs, two four-ship F/A-18C/D Distributed Mission Trainer (DMT) suites and one Landing Signal Officer trainer. The F/A-18 COMS program’s 24 F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet maintenance training devices, classroom hardware and local area networks are also operated and maintained by L-3 Link.
