Marshall Land Systems Delivers Mobile CT Scanner to UK MOD

Partnership Working with MOD and Philips delivers to Time, Cost and Performance

Deployable CT Scanner

In a simple ceremony Marshall Land Systems has handed over the UK MOD’s first truly deployable CT Scanner to representatives of the MOD. The Scanner, a Philips Brilliance 64 CT, has been integrated into a Marshall Double Expandable Matrix Shelter by Marshall Land Systems.

During the ceremony a ribbon was jointly cut by Brigadier Jon Brittain, Head of Capability Expeditionary Logistic Support, UK MOD and Sir Michael Marshall, Chairman and CEO of the Marshall of Cambridge Group. They were accompanied by representatives of the DS&TE Delivery Team and The Surgeon General’s Department and the team from Marshall Land Systems that manufactured and integrated the system for the MOD.

Speaking to the joint team, from the MOD, DE&S, Philips and Marshall Land Systems that has manufactured and integrated the system Nick Blackmore, the Project Manager in DS&TE, said “The team has achieved remarkable things on this project. From getting the approval to delivery today of an incredibly high tech item of equipment designed to survive the rigours of being deployed to and in an operational theatre has taken 11 months.”

Gary Daniels, Head of DRMS, DS&TE, said “The level of co-operation and partnering to deliver to time, cost and performance a system that will materially improve the chances of survival of members of the UK and its allies armed forces, and the civilians they protect, should they be unfortunate enough to suffer major blunt trauma injury has been an example of just how industry and government can and should work together.”

Peter Callaghan CEO of Marshall Land Systems said “The Team of the MOD, DE&S, The Surgeon General’s Department, Marshall and Philips working in partnership to deliver a common aim, has been exceptional. It’s the way we like to work because we find that by doing things this way we can capture the requirement and then deliver the solution the end user needs to time cost and performance making sure all the integration issues are taken care of.”
