New 6-Channel Rotary Joint for Air Traffic Control
The new 6-channel rotary joint for air traffic control ("ATC – Air Traffic Control") radars supplements the product portfolio of SPINNER.
6-Channel Rotary Joint
The result of this work is a non-contact 6-channel rotary joint for antennas using the frequency range of S-and L-band, the primary ("PSR – Primary Surveillance Radar") and secondary ("SSR – Secondary Surveillance Radar") surveillance radar frequencies.
This 6-channel ATC rotary joint includes slip rings and encoders. To be able to achieve the superior system performance, very low insertion loss, VSWR and high isolation values for the rotary joint are necessary. These outstanding electrical properties are the result of years of design experience, careful development, top quality materials and high-precision manufacturing.
Realized in a non-contacting design which guarantees a lifetime of more than 50 MM revolutions, the rotary joint is characterized by excellent power transmission capability of 35 kW peak and 3 kW average.
Amongst our 3- and 6-channel portfolio rotary joints for primary and secondary surveillance radar antennas, SPINNER offers the whole range of ATC rotary joints with slip rings and encoders.
