The Princess Royal to Visit MilSys (UK) Ltd

HRH the Princess Royal is to visit MilSys (UK) Ltd on Monday 26th Oct 2009 to mark the national and international success of the company and the support that it provides to the MoD.

After an initial briefing from the Managing Director, Andy Cowling the Princess will be taken on a tour of MilSys. The tour will include an opportunity to meet members of staff and see demonstrations of the utility and innovation of the company’s products, such as environmentally friendly ablution systems and a new UK haemostatic agent that controls severe bleeding fast. The latter is simple, safe and effective to use, and does not generate heat so can be used on any part of the body.

Throughout the visit Her Royal Highness will be accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant for Herefordshire, The Countess of Darnley.

Before leaving, Her Royal Highness will unveil a plaque commemorating her visit.

MilSys is the UK subsidiary of DHS Technologies LLC of Orangeburg NY and employs 40 personnel locally and a number of agents internationally.

MilSys is a provider of mobile infrastructure capabilities and solutions for defence, security and crisis relief organisations. Examples are turnkey medical facilities, including field hospitals with all medical and dental equipment and pharmaceuticals; CBRN capabilities from human casualty pods to decontamination facilities; and trailer borne, digitized, command and control facilities. Its speciality is in blending soft shelters, notably but not exclusively Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters (DRASH), with containerised functions, supported by a range of life supporting utilities, including generators and environment control units. All can be underpinned by customer training and technical and maintenance support, including Contractor Logistic Support or full asset management on behalf of the customer.
