Firepower FP-10™

Firepower is the ultimate lube in complete care of firearms, weapons and weapon systems. Firepower FP-10 possesses exceptional properties for an all-in-one firearms maintenance product. Firepower cleans the weapon, removes lead and copper, lubricates, guards against extreme pressure and wear, plus protects lubed surfaces from corrosion.

Many semiautomatic and full-automatic weapons will dysfunction after periods of fire sufficient to build up and transfer high heat to the receiver and its moving parts.
Two examples are Heckler & Koch’s MP5 submachine gun and Barrett Firearms’ M992A1 .50 caliber semiautomatic. Both models have a tendency to dysfunction after sufficient heat is generated through firing while using conventional lubricants. If Firepower FP-10 is applied, no dysfunctions associated with lubricity and tolerance change will occur. Feeding and extraction problems in the Remington 870 shotguns will also be rectified from the use of Firepower FP-10.

Riflecraft Ltd

Riflecraft Ltd are a ISO 9001:2008 accredited UK based SME specialising in precision rifles and training in support of these weapon systems to both civil and tactical customers. The company was formed in February 1998 by Andrew Evans-Hendrick after 20 years’ experience with the UK armed forces and has since expanded to occupy over 10,000 sq ft (930m2) in Norfolk.

The Company provides a design service with local manufacturing capability, a fully qualified armourer service including armourer training and a large civilian retail unit. All workshop staff and instructors are fully qualified and regular shooters. The Company and staff specialise in rifles and accessories and can therefore provide a truly dedicated service to civilian and tactical customers alike.

Military Contracts

Riflecraft have been successfully supplying UK MOD and UK Police for a number of years and have a dedicated Department catering to the needs of the tactical community, headed by a fully qualified Contracts Manager with over thirty years’ experience with the UK Ministry of Defence.

Members of the Tactical team have military and operational experience and therefore a real understanding of the needs of the End User.

To date nearly 100,000 handguards for SA80 co-designed by Riflecraft have been successfully delivered to British Armed Forces.

Military Supply Chains and Partnerships

Many prestigious US Companies have selected Riflecraft as their UK distributor and these relationships are based on a mutual respect and desire for the End User to carry the best quality products with the best possible support. Barrett Firearms, Remington Defense, LWRC International, Daniel Defense, Smith Enterprise Inc , Abrams/Milkor, Leupold & Stevens, Nightforce Optics, and McCann Industries are amongst the companies represented not only at the point of sale but for full support solutions for all of their products including user/maintainer training, full through life support packages (including spares & special to type tools)  repair, development and mid-life improvement programmes.
The combination of operational awareness, a design and engineering facility and access to some of the best names in the business, means that Riflecraft are not simply a supplier but a provider of solutions whether these are an off the shelf option from a partner or a concept that requires development from grass roots through design and proof of concept to the production of prototypes and trials.

The Modern Light-Weight Non-magnetic Bayonet

In response to the UK Government’s desire to reduce the burden on the Dismounted Soldier, Riflecraft developed a new, light-weight, non-magnetic bayonet. It does not interfere with the normal operation of the weapon when fitted over the flash eliminator, will penetrate a standard stab vest with a single thrust and the non-magnetic properties enable it to be used as an improvised mine prodder. The scabbard has been designed to fit to the soldiers MOLLE or belt and both this and the bayonet itself are made entirely in the UK.

New M2 Barrel Support

The Riflecraft M2 (HMG) Replacement Barrel Support was designed for this tried and trusted machine gun for both QCB and Older models to provide collimated mounting for all light / laser combinations. It is a CNC machined part rather than the traditional cast version and is indexed from the barrel threads at 12 and 6 o’clock making all dimensions relative to those threads and all mounting platforms parallel to the bore.  The multiple mounting of lights and lasers enables the shooter to retain zero whilst switching between the various technologies and only one Allen or Torx tool is required to change configuration.  An extension is also available for use through most armour.

Sound Moderators/Suppressors

Riflecraft have been promoting the use of sound moderators for some years and now have their own light weight range to fit the whole range of military and civilian weapons. The reduction in both visual and audible signature provides improved protection for the soldier and the reduction in weight and size reduces the impact on the weapon as was experienced with older heavier moderators.

The Future
The Business objectives of Riflecraft include the expansion of the business through sales at home and abroad. All products are fully supported “through-life” giving the customer a fully supported system for the life of the product. Full training packages are available and can be tailored to a train-the-trainer format if required by the customer.

ULIS

ULIS’ thermal imaging technology brings distinct advantages such as low weight, low power consumption and high image resolution to military gear, including handheld goggles, thermal weapon sights, and thermal cameras used in ground vehicle situation awareness. The company currently supplies its thermal image sensors to the French army’s FELIN program and Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV), in particular the Nexter. ULIS is also participating in two European anti-surface missile programs.

ULIS’ thermal imaging sensors rely on amorphous silicon microbolometer technology to convert infrared (IR) radiation into visible images.  This enables targets to be identified during the day and night, in adverse weather conditions and over distances of several kilometers, depending on the optics in the thermal camera.

Easy to use high-resolution thermal imaging products that solve SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power and Cost) reductions mark the qualities of the ULIS brand.

European Leader in Thermal Image Sensors
for Military Applications

A subsidiary of Sofradir, ULIS specializes in the design and manufacture of high quality thermal image sensors for both commercial and military applications. It is the second largest producer of thermal image sensors (microbolometers). ULIS offers a targeted range of microbolometers that are the key component of many top name thermal imaging equipment sold across Europe, Asia and North America.

The high spatial uniformity of ULIS’ microbolometer technology, a key parameter for high-resolution imaging, makes its IR imaging sensors particularly effective for military applications, allowing soldiers to locate and identify targets faster and more accurately during the day and night, and through fog and smoke.

By relying on amorphous silicon, a robust and reliable semiconductor material proven for its industrial production capacity, ULIS achieves large-scale manufacturing, which is one of its differentiators in the market.  This large-scale production capacity is enabling it to meet the growing demand from commercial and defense markets for IR equipment that consumes little power, lightweight and affordable.

Integration of Thermal Imaging Sensors into Military Equipment

ULIS is active in security and surveillance, energy management and in the thermography, defense and automotive markets. Hundreds of thousands of its products are used to detect threats and thereby protect property, industrial sites, national borders and commuter systems as well as military personnel in combat zones.

Size, weight, low power consumption and lower cost reductions drive ULIS innovations enabling the company to address new trends in energy efficiency for building automation and advanced driving assistance systems for vehicles.

Military Infrared Imaging Sensors - Microbolometer Technology

Thermal image sensors are made up of pixels that absorb thermal radiation. Each pixel acts like a thermometer. Each one will then increase in temperature, whereupon the temperature difference can be measured.

ULIS’ microbolometer technology is based on this temperature variation measurement. This method of measuring temperature variation means that the sensors using ULIS' microbolometer technology do not need cooling, unlike other technologies used to produce high sensitivity IR detectors, such as Indium Antimonide. These other IR technologies require cooling to maintain the IR chip at a low temperature to counter dark current, which keeps the IR detector working efficiently. Foregoing the necessity of a cooling system makes ULIS’ MEMS-based (microelectromechanical systems) sensors more affordable and highly suitable for large-volume applications. These include thermographic cameras used in building inspection and preventive maintenance, surveillance cameras, enhanced night vision driving and military applications, including handheld goggles.

Growth and Development
ULIS was founded in 2002. It is a spin-off from CEA-Leti, a leading European micro- and nanotechnologies R&D institution and Sofradir, the global leader in cooled IR detectors. ULIS began operations with a legacy of more than 40 years of infrared technology know-how and a long-established silicon manufacturing infrastructure. Located in Veurey-Voroize, France (close to major hi-tech center Grenoble), ULIS employs 160 staff and has access to close to 500 scientists and engineers from the CEA-Leti with which it continues to have a strong R&D partnership.

ULIS is a firm on the rise. It has more than 500,000 products deployed in the field. It has experienced double-digit compound growth since its founding. The company was among one of the first to deploy its thermal image sensors in cameras used to conduct health monitoring at Asian airports during the 2003 SARS outbreak. More recently, infrared cameras using ULIS products have been used to detect high body temperatures of passengers at airport terminals who might have contracted Ebola. Today, its product lines include military-grade IR sensors that are used in handheld goggles, thermal cameras for ground vehicle situation awareness and other military gear.

ULIS’ Large Format XGA Thermal Image Sensors Offer Higher Resolution and More Cost Savings

Similar to all manufacturers, the pressure to lower costs is unrelenting. Reducing the pixel pitch size while improving gains in performance has been ULIS’ main thrust.  It has accomplished a steady reduction in the pixel pitch size of its IR imaging sensors from 35 micron to 25 micron and then to 17-micron. ULIS was the first to introduce a 17-micron 1024 x 768 IR imaging sensors to the market. This megapixel product remains one of the largest thermal image sensor formats available.  It doubled the number pixels in the array over earlier models. With smaller pixel pitch sizes come two major advantages:

  • Improved image resolution, as one can squeeze more pixels onto an IR imaging sensor.
  • Smaller IR imaging sensors, which benefit system integrators by freeing up design space and bring cost-savings to the overall IR system.

New Pico Gen2 brand products

ULIS Pico Gen2 products bring extra performance to military gear and professional security and surveillance cameras. The brand offers important SWaP-enhanced advantages to military equipment needing extended infrared detection range, fast target detection and tracking, while keeping power consumption low.  Several Pico products are already deployed in European and North American airborne and land vehicle applications, as well as in anti-surface missile programs.

The Pico brand also makes higher thermal image resolution simpler and faster to install in professional cameras. This is due to its use of standardized communication protocols that are compatible with commercial camera systems.

Cost-saving measures
ULIS has pioneered technologies to enable customers to have price-competitive end-products. Early on, ULIS switched from metallic to ceramic IR sensor packaging that brought significant cost-savings. In conjunction with the CEA-Leti, ULIS has developed PLP (Pixel Level Packaging), a new wafer-based vacuum packaging. With this disruptive technology, ULIS can manufacture its pixels using the same semiconductor process step as the packaging. This makes the whole production cycle more efficient. The new packaging technique is expected to bring an additional 30% in cost-savings for end-customers.

All of these advances progressively make ULIS’ IR products more affordable and accessible to a wide-range of industry applications and attractive to procurers of military equipment increasingly turning to products that have their roots in the commercial world.

PAXCON - LINE-X

Spray Applied Force Protection

PAXCON [PX-3350], developed by LINE-X is an advanced spray applied polymer coating formulated to mitigate the effects of a bomb blast.

The Effects of Blast Mitigation

PAXCON is sprayed on the exterior and interior of the supporting walls and is touch dry in seconds. During a bomb blast PAXCON mitigates the effects of the explosion by providing a flexible liner that absorbs the force of the blast and holds the fragmented wall together.

PAXCON has been put through extreme testing by the Air Force Research Laboratory. Testing involved 9’x9’ panels, one uncoated and the other coated with PAXCON which were exposed to bomb blasts at a distance of 35ft. The PAXCON coated panel survived this test whilst the non coated panel disintegrated as a result of the blast.

Futher tests constructed by the Air Force research lab provided evidence that walls coated in the PAXCON material can reduce the stand off distance by over 50%.

The tests also indicated that PAXCON was the only coating that passed all bomb blast testing out of the 27 coatings that were tested.

After the 9/11 attacks in America LINE-X developed PAXCON to help protect current and future assets from attack.

The US Pentagon was one of the first major Government buildings to specify PAXCON “to protect the Pentagon against potential impacts and bomb blasts.”

Blast Resistant Coatings Protecting Military, Civilian and
Government Buildings

PAXCON coatings are currently protecting military, civilian and government building across the globe. Applications can include underground car parks, banks, large postal offices, airport baggage handling centres and new architectural projects.

PAXCON can also be specified  for new builds and applied during the construction of the site. Once the structural walls have been built, PAXCON applicators go on site to spray the polymer coating onto the prepared wall. With rapid touch drying time of only a few seconds PAXCON does not hold up the construction process of the site. Once the coating has been sprayed, the carpenters, builders and plasterers can carry on with their duties almost immediately.

LINE-X Protective Coatings Ltd also have a structural and masonry retro fit program where existing buildings/structures can have PAXCON applied to the substrate of the supporting walls, making them resistant to particular forms of bomb blast.

The retro fit program includes PAXCON being applied to lightweight structures such as plywood panelling and timber stud walls as well as heavyweight masonry structures made from brick or blockwork.

PAXCON polymer coatings will adhere to most well prepared substrates including wood, steel, fiberglass and dyneema.

PAXCON Provides Anti-Terror Protection

PAXCON Blast Mitigation is an integral part of security planning. When security fails to prevent acts of terrorism PAXCON is there to save and protect targeted assets from terrorist attempts. PAXCON should be integrated into your anti-terrorism package to protect your assets when other preventative measures have not succeeded.

Enhanced Polymer Coatings for Ballistic Protection

Blast Mitigation is one of many coating solutions provided by LINE-X Protective Coatings Ltd. LINE-X Spall Liner [PX-2100] is a spray applied coating that absorbs the impact from projectiles preventing both the projectile and the armoured plating from creating spall.

Spall is the name given to fractured elements from a projectile or armoured plating that occur when that projectile impacts at high speed with the armoured plating. These fractured elements when dispersing are the cause of a large volume of injuries to many of our soldiers.

The flexibility and absorption that LINE-X Spall Liner offers when applied to armoured panels eradicates the splintering effect by cushioning the impact and entrapping the fractured elements.

Impact Absorbtion Qualities

The LINE-X spall liner has been engineered from specially formulated polymers to allow a certain degree of flexibility and durability to be able to absorb the impact from high speed projectiles when coated onto armored panels.

These advanced polymers have allowed the LINE-X to produce a spray-on Spall Liner for armoured vehicles to be used in conjunction with Dyneema and similar armoured panels which is significantly lighter and more cost effective than armouring with steel plates.
Other Spall Liner applications include the coating of Breastplates and Gun Turrets. LINE-X Spall Liner is currently being used on both the strike side and reverse side of Dyneema, Ceramic and Armour Plated panels.

Advanced Armoured Vehicle Coatings

LINE-X applications are being specified and carried out on several military and ‘blue light’ fleets due to the many advantages LINE-X coatings have to offer.

The ballistic properties are obviously one of the key attractions of the LINE-X Spall Liner material, which is able to provide advanced, lightweight  armoured protection at a lower cost to the usual methods of up-armouring vehicles. This coating also offers plenty of hidden gems including rust and corrosion prevention, resistant to most chemicals; it is easily maintained, and offers a non-skid surface.

Military vehicles operate in harsh and rough terrains, which have a tendency for rocks, stones and debris to be thrown up causing damage to the vehicle. The superior durability of the LINE-X range of coatings have lead to many military fleets adopting LINE-X as their choice of protective coating, in order to prevent exactly this type of damage from occurring.

UK “Blue Light” fleets have started to adopt the LINE-X coating as a Van Liner for the added protection of preventing projectiles such as scaffold poles being forced through the standard metal side panels of the van as well as providing a non-skid surface that is easily jet washed back for cleanliness.

R A Rodriguez (UK) Ltd

A rich heritage in defence applications: for more than 40 years, R. A. Rodriguez worldwide has been providing full engineering support to military and aerospace companies.  Indeed its bearing products are fitted to a huge range of military and aircraft applications including spacecraft.  They are also used in many associated leading edge technologies such as optical sighting systems and laser range finding.

Thin Section Bearings

Central to its product programme is the extensive KAYDON® bearing range that includes REALI-SLIM® thin section bearings - ideal for applications where space is at a premium and weight needs to be minimised – they find homes in aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, UAVs, airlift, cargo and commercial; ground combat and security vehicles.

Military Turret Bearings

KAYDON® Wire Race bearings were originally designed for military turret applications, where space and weight are at a premium and corrosion resistance is essential. They consist of wire raceways inserted in lightweight support rings, allowing for a high load capacity and large diameter in a bearing that can be 60% lighter than one made entirely of steel.

Slewing Ring Bearings

Turntable bearings are also a KAYDON® speciality – there is a series to suit every need from light to extreme heavy duty and a REALI-SLIM® version of this range offers the benefits of small size and minimum weight.

The military and civilian applications for KAYDON® slewing ring bearings are extensive, applications include marine gun mounts and radars, and weaponry such as missile launchers.

Following KAYDON®’s acquisition of Avon Bearings, R. A. Rodriguez is now also responsible for the ‘local’ marketing of one of the world’s most comprehensive ranges of slewing ring and advanced custom bearings.  These products are used in a range of industries but typically in systems for the renewable energy, medical, mining, construction as well as military sectors.

KAYDON® is now able to produce bearings with an outside diameter of over 6m using the most modern facilities and equipment in the industry.  The company’s investment in flexible manufacturing also allows R. A. Rodriguez to supply small quantities at an economical price.

Custom Military Bearings

The success of equipment designed for use in special applications can often rest with one or a combination of bearing features and that’s where KAYDON® custom bearings score highly.  Manufactured and tested to the highest quality standards, special attention is paid to balls, bearing raceway geometry, finish and retainer design resulting in optimum bearing performance.

All bearings are manufactured in facilities that are certified to AS9100B, ISO 9001:2008 and NADCAP standards and that hold specialised accreditations from leaders in the industry.

In recognition of its quality products and processes KAYDON® holds the prestigious Bell Helicopter Premier Supplier Award.   Only AS9100 certified suppliers can qualify for this award and the winner must have maintained the consistent delivery of quality-assured products at a minimum frequency rate of 98%.

The helicopter sector is a prime market for the KAYDON® custom-engineering and performance critical bearings. Typical examples are rotor mast and swashplate bearings.  The swashplate is a device that translates the pilot's commands via the helicopter flight controls into motion of the main rotor blades.

Precision and reliable performance are critical in all these applications and KAYDON® bearings provide both and also high load capacity in extreme environments, from hot desert to the icy darkness of space.  Examples of the latter include the Hubble telescope, the international space station and three Mars Rovers, in which the bearings are heated to withstand temperatures below -100°C.

KAYDON® offers a wide range of catalogue and custom bearings for the aerospace/defence industry including ball, cylindrical, tapered and sleeve bearings.  Most are available in various materials (52100, M50, 440C, 17-4PH) and with different coatings and can be customised to meet specific user requirements.

Turntable Bearings

Complimenting the KAYDON® range, the Rodriguez own brand turntable bearings manufactured at its factory in Germany, are also supplied to the UK market.  Two basic versions are available, the KDL series for light applications where high accuracy is not a pre-requisite and the KDM series that provides a higher order of performance for greater loads.  Both are manufactured in high grade carbon steel or stainless steel and shipped pre-lubricated and ready for use.

Typical applications include cranes, aerial work platforms, gun turrets, radar pedestals, surveillance, scanner and materials handling equipment.

Considerable capital investment in the Rodriguez GmbH factory near Aachen in Germany has resulted in the company becoming one of Europe’s leading suppliers of bearings. In addition to turntable bearings, it also produces a range of transmission components including linear guideways, bearing housings, ballscrews and acmescrews.

Stock Gears

KHK gears is another important product range for military and defence applications, an extensive range for which R. A. Rodriguez is now the European master distributor.  This adds value to their offering to the defence and aerospace industries by ensuring greater availability of the 9000 stock items in the catalogue range, and greater flexibility through KHK’s gear modification service.

mb-microtec ag

mb-microtec ag is the world’s leading manufacturer of Gaseous Tritium Light Sources (GTLS).  The family owned company with approx. 60 plus employees is situated in the village of Niederwangen; on the outskirts of the Swiss Capital of Berne.

Gaseous Tritium Light Sources (GTLS)

mb-microtec ag specialises in the development testing, manufacturing and supply of GTLS in various sizes and shapes for use in numerous products within the civilian, military and OEM industries.
The company provides GTLS to a large number of OEM worldwide for use in their products which includes products such as Watches, Compass, Map-Readers, Route Markers, Arch Markers and Gun sights.
The company also assists in the development and manufacture of products to customer specification, as well as acting as consultants for issues involving licencing, the safe handling, disposal and re cycling of Tritium.

GLTS are glass forms in various shapes, sizes and colors produced from borosilicate glass (Pyrex) the smallest being just 0.5mm in diameter and 1.6mm in length which are coated internally with phosphorescent material and then filled with tritium gas. The forms are extremely safe, are hermetically sealed and are not affected by water, oil and most other corrosive materials.

Tritium was discovered in 1934 by Ernest Rutherford, ML Oliphant and Paul Harteck, tritium (T, or H3) is the third isotope of hydrogen. It is unstable and disintegrates whilst sending out beta radiation (electrons) and has a half-life time of 12.3 years. During this transition, each atom emits just one electron, which leaves the core with a maximum energy of approx. 18 KeV. The energy is very low compared with other radioactive isotopes, which means the electron is unable to penetrate the human skin and can be stopped easily by a sheet of paper. This makes it extremely safe when used in combination with our GTLS. As the Tritium is in a gaseous form and lighter than air, should a GTLS break the gas disperses to the atmosphere at over 3m/sec

Trigalight® Technology

mb-microtec ag manufactures trigalights in a number of different shapes sizes and colours . A trigalight is a self-activated cold light source, requiring neither power supply nor wiring, formed from borosilicate glass, internally coated with one of a range of phosphors and filled with Tritium gas. Trigalight products are intrinsically safe, and are unaffected by water, oil and most corrosive materials. Additionally trigalights are also:

  • Filament free are highly resistant to shock, temperature and vibration
  • Maintenance free and intrinsically safe
  • Chemically inert
  • Completely maintenance free
  • Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) proof
  • Long in service life, guaranteed to glow for at least 10 years

Trigalight® Tactical Insert®

trigalight inserts are metal sleeved, sapphire crystal protected trigalights.
The so called tactical inserts find wide application within the gun sight illumination sector.

Their absolutely outstanding reliability which requires no external power source and they have even greater benefits when it comes to after sales costs, compactness and durability. All tactical inserts are tested to withstand extreme shock and weather conditions and come with a 10 year illumination warranty.
Tactical inserts can be used at temperatures ranging from -94 deg. to 250 deg. Fahrenheit, not only for a short period but for several years if needed.

Trigalight® Lynx System®

Optical Gun Sighting Systems

The patented combination of fibre optics and trigalight GTLS makes it possible. The lynx systems is always ready require no other power or energy source, or warm up time and never needs to be adjusted for brightness. Based on simple physic, one of the most reliable optical gun sighting systems ever invented.
The fibre optics collects the surrounding light and guides it to the end of the fibre where it shows up as an illuminated ring (red or green depending on the fibre colour).

As soon as there is not enough surrounding light the trigalight® GTLS starts to glow and shows up as a green dot on the sight.  This process happens in real time with absolutely no time delay.

There are no buttons, wheels, knobs, batteries or wires needed ... just a standard place and forget metal mount, as comes with every iron sight. You can holster or store your gun knowing that whenever you will need it again, your gun sight will be instantly ready for duty.

GTLS Technology - Traser® Watches

mg-microtec ag are proud to be the manufactures of the first ever watch containing the GTLS technology. Traser produce a large variety of watches variety including watches designed for Divers, Military, Police or Special Forces sector which are produced and tested according to the strict US MIL- G- 46374G.

As the watches contain the GTLS technology they are always ready to go and require no added light or energy source to make them glow which means you can see your watch anytime, anyplace and in any light conditions. The watches are also available as a so called “private label watch” giving you the opportunity to design your own unique personalized watches for your Unit, Company, Regiment or Corp. Please contact us at www.traser.com
