Will-Burt Germany

Will-Burt Germany provides high-quality mobile mast systems and trailer solutions for military and security / rescue forces. They are used around the world: the armed forces of Germany, its NATO allies and other likeminded nations. Will-Burt Germany has progressively turned into a global player with subsidiaries and partners on every continent.

Customized Trailer Systems for Extreme Requirements

The object of Will-Burt Germany is the development, project planning, construction and system integration of our customized trailer systems. We carry out and follow your plan from A to Z. Special trailers for special tasks are our specialty. Many of our trailers are manufactured in small series. They are used by the German Army and other international forces. Our trailer systems are especially designed for missions involving extraordinary burdens in extreme and arduous terrain. High payloads in combination with low basic weights, maximum cross-country mobility, long life expectancy and low maintenance requirements are the characteristics of all Will-Burt Germany tactical trailers.

Range of Mobile Mast Systems

Our mast systems are used by international forces around the globe, including the German Army, to provide communications, surveillance, reconnaissance support etc. throughout the battlefield.

Man-portable Masts

The Expedition series (Ranger mast) is the lightest, most durable, rapid deploying, single man-portable field masts in the world. This system is equipped with lightweight payloads and can be deployed quickly by extending 1.2m sections to heights from 2.5m to a maximum of 18.3m. It’s our system for the ‘last mile’.

The AntennaMast AM2 model is a portable, lightweight, rugged, aluminum tripod mast designed for rapid payload deployment. The AM2 can raise multiple devices on an individual mast and is highly flexible and reliable. Users can lift and lower larger payloads in a secure way without disassembling the mast system by using the EZ Raze™ system and its safety brake and cable winching device. The mast tube lift winch supplies mechanical assistance for mast tube lifting for heavier payloads, and the mast tubes and payload can also be elevated by breach loading the tubes through the tripod center collar.

Mechanical Masts:

Telescopic crank masts KVL and KVR (also called cable pulls) are for payloads up to 70kg and heights up to 20m. They are suited for heavy communication systems, monitoring solutions, direction finder, target detection systems, etc. and used by the market leaders. These masts uphold their reputation through their robustness and simple operation. The extension and retraction of this mast type is realized through a retractable rope and a separate return rope. This guarantees a reliable operation independent of the weather conditions.

Spindle-Driven Masts:

The Spindle mast SPM is currently the best available mast system on the market. Grown against the hardest requirements, the SPM is specifically designed for use with large payloads and very high demands of accuracy. The retracting and extension occur through special spindle systems. A special honing procedure of the aluminum tubes and the use of high-precision spindles enables the manufacturing of nearly backlash-free telescopic spindle masts for heights up to 18m and payloads up to 600kg!

Lattice Towers:

The spectrum of lattice towers starts with the ITS Towers. ITS offers an innovative line of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) tower solutions from 11.5m to 32m. Will-Burt Germany lattice towers are customized solutions, mounted on trucks or trailers, for heights up to 45m and payloads up to 1000kg. Our giants!

Mobile Mark

At Mobile Mark, we understand that military requirements are different, that the antennas will be used in difficult environments and need to be ready for squad deployments, pop-up stations, or communications intelligence-gathering (COMINT).  That’s why our antennas are rugged, durable and reliable.

Mobile Mark  - Military Antennas

We handle the usual and the unusual, from standard products to specialty products. Think if it as “COTS with flexibility”. We offer all the convenience and cost savings of off-the-shelf products but with the ability to tweak the design to better meet your in-the-field requirements.

We have antennas for many commercially available wireless networks as well as antennas for dedicated military frequencies, such as 1350 MHz or 4.4 GHz. Our antennas are designed and manufactured in the United States.

Our in-house Engineering Design Team has years of experience in antenna design.  We can supplement your own engineering efforts and be a valued RF sounding board.  We can help you envision all sorts of ways the antennas can be used, including break-apart omnis and embedded, body-worn patches.

Mobile Mark military antennas comply with Mil specs such as MIL-810G. Our antennas are designed and tested in our in-house facilities located in the US, just outside Chicago.

Mobile Mark offers more than just a wide range of antenna designs, we offer the company behind the antennas: knowledgeable, easy to work with, and ready to be your antenna partner.

visit www.mobilemark.com for our full product line.

Network Antennas (OD-BA, PS18-4900-45, SCR-2400/5500)

Mobile Mark offers omni-directional site antennas in military appropriate colors such as olive drab and desert sand.  Specialized antennas to speed network deployment include the 12 dBi Break-Apart Antenna that can collapse down into two easy-to-carry pieces.  We also offer low profile, compact directional antennas for dependable point-to-point connections.

Embedded Antennas (EM, CVL, PM-1350)

For specialized applications where it is important to track the individual soldier, embedding the antenna directly in the troop’s equipment or clothing has many advantages… and tradeoffs.  We can help you understand what you gain and what you lose with different antenna styles.  Our expertise includes board-only styles as well as slim profile over-molded styles.

Asset Tracking Antennas
(HD7-915, RM w/ Groundplane Rods, SM-U15)

Reliable asset management requires making use of multiple systems: RFID tag readers, Wi-Fi based Bar Code scanning, GPS location systems as well as Cellular M2M (machine-to-machine) transmissions.  Mobile Mark can help you put together the right mix of antennas from site to mobile to covert.

Vehicle Antennas (LTM501, SMW-305, SMD-W)

Mobile antenna selection becomes complicated as new wireless protocols, such as LTE and 802.11ac, are added to the network.  Mobile Mark is the industry leader in multiband antennas; we can combine multiple antenna solutions in a single compact, durable package.  Our mobile antennas meet Military specs for Shock, Vibration, Temperature and Water Ingress.

Specialized Frequencies (ECO9-4700, PSTN2-2200, RMM-1400)

Sometimes a COTS antenna just needs to be tweaked to cover a different frequency or to provide a different radiation pattern.  And, sometimes, the need is so unique that nothing but a customer design will do the job.  Mobile Mark’s team of design engineers can handle it all, whether the design requirement is electrical or mechanical.

Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems Ltd

Rapid Deployment are certainly the buzz words in all Military Forces presently, the capability to rapidly establish an airborne infrastructure is an essential part of strategies laid down by Joint Armed Forces worldwide.
The Mobile Visual Control Room (MVCR) or Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower is an integral part of any Joint Armed Forces Aerospace Surveillance and Battle Space Management System. The requirement of an operational airbase is essential to all operations in-theatre very early in any conflict and therefore the equipment used must reflect the requirements of urgency and the possible lack of lifting equipment or specialised vehicles for deployment.

Rapid Deployable ATC Towers

The trailer mounted system is designd specifically for rapid and simple deployment.

The Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems ATC tower is transportable by C-130, C-17 and has undertaken live trials with Chinook helicopter, and can be deployed by 2-4 personnel in an hour. All equipment needed to deploy is carried within the unit and there is no additional lifting equipment necessary.
Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems designed their tower to be trailer mounted so that it can be towed by various unspecified vehicles and removes the single point of failure of a truck-mounted system.

Mobile Elevating Towers

The tower elevates to 7m operator seated height and allows for 3 operators plus 1 supervisor position. The internal fit is designed specifically to meet the precise operational requirements of the end user but be flexible in terms of upgrades and/or additional equipment requirements to cope with local operating conditions.

Features

Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems have specifically designed their mobile system for uncomplicated Rapid Deployment with a minimum of parts.
Whether it is to be used for military applications, a stand-by or disaster relief, it is important that the unit can be deployed quickly and efficiently.
The Systems all feature a new Automatic Levelling System and remotely controlled deployment that levels and deploys the cabin to full  height and locks it in position hydraulically in under 5 minutes.

  • Tower meets all Safety Regulations including Working at Height and evacuation procedures.

All Terrain Truck Mounted ATC

MATC introduced their new 6x6 All Terrain Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower at the World ATM Congress in Madrid 4-6 March 2014.  Described as a “game changer in tactical military ATC operations” the 6 wheel drive Mercedes mounted system had a lot of interest. Designed in principal for Middle East and Asian operators, the unit is autonomous with an in-built generator, automatic levelling and an operator height of 7.5 metres and is delivered plug and play. It features an automatic tyre deflation and inflation system to cope with wheel slip on sand or wet conditions whilst maintaining a fast on-road speed enabling quick location and relocation. The cabin is the same as the trailer mounted unit.

Added to this MATC introduced a new Compact ATC Cabin that can be towed and positioned by any four wheel drive. This is aimed at smaller strips and airfields where elevation is not required, it is equipped to the same ATC standard as the other models and has an onboard generator and fuel tank.

KAYDON® Wire Race bearings were originally designed for military turret applications, where space and weight are at a premium and corrosion resistance is essential. They consist of wire raceways inserted in lightweight support rings, allowing for a high load capacity and large diameter in a bearing that can be 60% lighter than one made entirely of steel.

Slewing Ring Bearings

Turntable bearings are also a KAYDON® speciality – there is a series to suit every need from light to extreme heavy duty and a REALI-SLIM® version of this range offers the benefits of small size and minimum weight.

The military and civilian applications for KAYDON® slewing ring bearings are extensive, applications include marine gun mounts and radars, and weaponry such as missile launchers.

Following KAYDON®’s acquisition of Avon Bearings, R. A. Rodriguez is now also responsible for the ‘local’ marketing of one of the world’s most comprehensive ranges of slewing ring and advanced custom bearings.  These products are used in a range of industries but typically in systems for the renewable energy, medical, mining, construction as well as military sectors.

KAYDON® is now able to produce bearings with an outside diameter of over 6m using the most modern facilities and equipment in the industry.  The company’s investment in flexible manufacturing also allows R. A. Rodriguez to supply small quantities at an economical price.

Custom Military Bearings

The success of equipment designed for use in special applications can often rest with one or a combination of bearing features and that’s where KAYDON® custom bearings score highly.  Manufactured and tested to the highest quality standards, special attention is paid to balls, bearing raceway geometry, finish and retainer design resulting in optimum bearing performance.

All bearings are manufactured in facilities that are certified to AS9100B, ISO 9001:2008 and NADCAP standards and that hold specialised accreditations from leaders in the industry.

In recognition of its quality products and processes KAYDON® holds the prestigious Bell Helicopter Premier Supplier Award.   Only AS9100 certified suppliers can qualify for this award and the winner must have maintained the consistent delivery of quality-assured products at a minimum frequency rate of 98%.

The helicopter sector is a prime market for the KAYDON® custom-engineering and performance critical bearings. Typical examples are rotor mast and swashplate bearings.  The swashplate is a device that translates the pilot's commands via the helicopter flight controls into motion of the main rotor blades.

Precision and reliable performance are critical in all these applications and KAYDON® bearings provide both and also high load capacity in extreme environments, from hot desert to the icy darkness of space.  Examples of the latter include the Hubble telescope, the international space station and three Mars Rovers, in which the bearings are heated to withstand temperatures below -100°C.

KAYDON® offers a wide range of catalogue and custom bearings for the aerospace/defence industry including ball, cylindrical, tapered and sleeve bearings.  Most are available in various materials (52100, M50, 440C, 17-4PH) and with different coatings and can be customised to meet specific user requirements.

Turntable Bearings

Complimenting the KAYDON® range, the Rodriguez own brand turntable bearings manufactured at its factory in Germany, are also supplied to the UK market.  Two basic versions are available, the KDL series for light applications where high accuracy is not a pre-requisite and the KDM series that provides a higher order of performance for greater loads.  Both are manufactured in high grade carbon steel or stainless steel and shipped pre-lubricated and ready for use.

Typical applications include cranes, aerial work platforms, gun turrets, radar pedestals, surveillance, scanner and materials handling equipment.

Considerable capital investment in the Rodriguez GmbH factory near Aachen in Germany has resulted in the company becoming one of Europe’s leading suppliers of bearings. In addition to turntable bearings, it also produces a range of transmission components including linear guideways, bearing housings, ballscrews and acmescrews.

Stock Gears

KHK gears is another important product range for military and defence applications, an extensive range for which R. A. Rodriguez is now the European master distributor.  This adds value to their offering to the defence and aerospace industries by ensuring greater availability of the 9000 stock items in the catalogue range, and greater flexibility through KHK’s gear modification service.
