Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems Ltd

Rapid Deployment are certainly the buzz words in all Military Forces presently, the capability to rapidly establish an airborne infrastructure is an essential part of strategies laid down by Joint Armed Forces worldwide.
The Mobile Visual Control Room (MVCR) or Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower is an integral part of any Joint Armed Forces Aerospace Surveillance and Battle Space Management System. The requirement of an operational airbase is essential to all operations in-theatre very early in any conflict and therefore the equipment used must reflect the requirements of urgency and the possible lack of lifting equipment or specialised vehicles for deployment.

Rapid Deployable ATC Towers

The trailer mounted system is designd specifically for rapid and simple deployment.

The Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems ATC tower is transportable by C-130, C-17 and has undertaken live trials with Chinook helicopter, and can be deployed by 2-4 personnel in an hour. All equipment needed to deploy is carried within the unit and there is no additional lifting equipment necessary.
Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems designed their tower to be trailer mounted so that it can be towed by various unspecified vehicles and removes the single point of failure of a truck-mounted system.

Mobile Elevating Towers

The tower elevates to 7m operator seated height and allows for 3 operators plus 1 supervisor position. The internal fit is designed specifically to meet the precise operational requirements of the end user but be flexible in terms of upgrades and/or additional equipment requirements to cope with local operating conditions.

Features

Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems have specifically designed their mobile system for uncomplicated Rapid Deployment with a minimum of parts.
Whether it is to be used for military applications, a stand-by or disaster relief, it is important that the unit can be deployed quickly and efficiently.
The Systems all feature a new Automatic Levelling System and remotely controlled deployment that levels and deploys the cabin to full  height and locks it in position hydraulically in under 5 minutes.

  • The system has been designed to be deployed by 2-4 men in under an hour.
  • All equipment needed for deployment is stored within the cabin or trailer system – the unit is completely self contained.
  • No need for any special lifting or handling equipment to deploy
  • Towers can be run off mains or powered by a generator.
  • The Cabin is trailer mounted for reliability, ease of use and flexibility – the cabin can be removed in 15 minutes.
  • Multi-level towing positions to cope with variety of different towing vehicles.
  • Robust heavy duty trailer system with EBS that automatically adjusts the air suspension to ensure the system remains level when being towed.
  • The trailer has adjustable air suspension to increase or decrease ground clearance.
  • Simple deployment – ONLY FOUR BOLTS in the entire deployment so less to lose and less FOD.
  • C-130, C-17, IL-76 and Heavy Lift Helicopter transportable
  • Tower has 3 operating heights, elevating to a maximum of 7m operator seated height.
  • Up to 4 operator positions
  • Cabins fitted with fully plug and play integrated systems comprising usually of military or commercial air to ground communications, voice switching and recording, meteorological reporting, navigational equipment and ground to ground communications to customer specification.
  • 360 ° vision from all operator positions.
  • LED lights throughout including the stairs
  • High spec ATC double glazed glass.
  • Dual Air Conditioning Units
  • Ballistic protection and Bullet Proof Glass options
  • Operators can safely evacuate the cabin in under 20 seconds unlike some towers that require an elevator.
  • Tower meets all Safety Regulations including Working at Height and evacuation procedures.

All Terrain Truck Mounted ATC

MATC introduced their new 6x6 All Terrain Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower at the World ATM Congress in Madrid 4-6 March 2014.  Described as a “game changer in tactical military ATC operations” the 6 wheel drive Mercedes mounted system had a lot of interest. Designed in principal for Middle East and Asian operators, the unit is autonomous with an in-built generator, automatic levelling and an operator height of 7.5 metres and is delivered plug and play. It features an automatic tyre deflation and inflation system to cope with wheel slip on sand or wet conditions whilst maintaining a fast on-road speed enabling quick location and relocation. The cabin is the same as the trailer mounted unit.

Added to this MATC introduced a new Compact ATC Cabin that can be towed and positioned by any four wheel drive. This is aimed at smaller strips and airfields where elevation is not required, it is equipped to the same ATC standard as the other models and has an onboard generator and fuel tank.

UTILITY FLAME™

UTILITY FLAME™ is THE heat source for field rations, field hygiene and survival. It is used by the armed forces of the United States and other NATO forces. It is the safe and more effective alternative to the flameless ration heater used for MRE. Unlike the old trioxane heat tabs and Esbit blocks, UTILITY FLAME™ is non-toxic, non-hazmat, smokeless and odorless. Ideal for whenever your forces need ‘fire in the field.’

Military Field Rations - UTILITY FLAME™

It is the safer and more effective alternative to the flameless ration heater used for MRE.

Military Survival Gear Fire Gel

In addition to heating field rations, UTILITY FLAME ™ provides a source for light and heat in any environment. Field survival often requires a soldier to start a fire under less than ideal conditions. Burning at over 700° C, UTILITY FLAME ™ will start a fire anywhere, anytime.

Field Hygiene and Sanitation

Hot water in the field for hygiene and sanitation is not always possible, but with UTILITY FLAME ™ the modern warfighter can have clean, safe water in minutes.

Fire Starter Gel

The UTILITY FLAME™ kit comes with an ultra light metal stove that creates a convection flow that funnels the heat where it’s needed. It fits standard issue canteen cups and pots weighing up to 1.3kg. It is perfect for all gel and solid fuel cookers including the Crusader Cooker and the Esbit Stove. Of course, the gel can be set directly on the ground or any other surface.

Fire Gel - UTILITY FLAME™

UTILITY FLAME™ is available in a 1.25 ounce packet and a re-sealable 6 ounce pouch. It can also be custom packaged to meet your specifications, including custom graphics to incorporate your information in your language.

DRASH / DHS Systems International

Soft Walled Military Shelter Systems and Technology

DHS Systems International is a subsidiary of DHS Technologies LLC, serving as the global provider of soft walled shelter technology.

For more than 25 years, DHS Technologies and its subsidiaries have been leaders of mobile infrastructure technology – aiding military, medical, government and civilian agencies around the globe. Through continued ingenuity, DHS Systems International commits to developing the best products for its customers.

Among the many products available through DHS is the company’s core product, the Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH). DRASH is a quick set-up/strike soft walled shelter specifically designed for mobility and rapid deployment.  DRASH Shelters come in a variety of makes and models, fulfilling the diverse needs of its customers.

DHS also offers Utility Support Trailers (UST), DRASH Accessories and other technology for use in conjunction with the DRASH Shelter Systems.

To learn more about DRASH products, please visit our website at www.drash.com

Featured Products:

J Series Side Mounted Large Screen Display Systems

This quarter’s featured product is the J Series Side Mounted Large Screen Display System. It is the newest addition to the DRASH Deployable Command and Control Equipment.

The purpose of the J Series Side Mounted Large Screen Display System is to increase mobility throughout DRASH shelters by eliminating the need to set up DC2E along the shelters' width. Instead, the new Side Display System posts on the shelters' length. Such a design enables personnel and equipment to move freely throughout the length of a DRASH shelter without restriction. The new design also allows military personnel to connect various shelters as needed to increase the size of the overall system.

Rapid Military Deployable Shelter Systems

DRASH Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters are the epitome of quick and efficient soft walled technology. Superior protective elements and reliable features are what make these shelters so functional and unique. All shelters are rapidly deployable and structured with an advanced, highly flexible composite material called Titanite®. The shelter’s frame is comprised of pairs of Titanite® struts that connect at key points in the framework called hubs. These hubs allow for rapid deployment, as they enable the entire shelter to be pushed up and out swiftly without additional assembly.  The shelter comes pre-attached with a double layer of Xytex, a high-tech fabric that provides insulation from hot and cold temperatures.  The specially coated fabric is fire retardant, water repellant and resistant to mildew, abrasion and ultraviolet rays.

DRASH Shelters come in a variety of sizes and divide into separate categories according to their width.  Beginning with the smallest C Series shelter, at 109 square ft. (2.3 meters) and ending with the largest J Series shelter, at 1,250 square ft. (116 meters), the range in size accommodates a diversity of client needs.  In addition, every shelter is easily connectable to any other shelter regardless of the series or model.
A key component to the DRASH Shelter System is the Utility Support Trailer (UST).  A UST is an integrated support system designed to provide mobility, power and or environmental control for all DRASH shelters.  USTs come in various models, tailoring to the energy needs of every mission. Depending on the model, a UST comes equipped with a generator and/or ECU. Models that are equipped with ECUs enable the shelters to function in harsh climates. Some trailers incorporate a new energy efficient Intelligent Power Technology (IPT), while other trailers have traditional analog systems.  All trailers are operable in rough terrain, and are easily towable by military vehicles.
Every element within a DRASH Shelter System has undergone rigorous testing to meet all Military Standard Requirements.

Intelligent Power Technology™ - IPT

Interconnectable Trailer-Mounted Generators

Intelligent Power Technology (IPT) is a reflection of DHS’s effort toward creating energy efficient products. The DRASH IPT enables users to interconnect various trailer-mounted generators to form a micro grid of networked power.

When activated, each generator responds to real time power demands. The system is self-adjusting but users have the ability to monitor activity from inside the Tactical Operations Center.  Because IPT responds to the user’s power needs, it eliminates wasted energy expenditure in unoccupied areas of the shelter. Having, IPT reduces unused energy, which ultimately minimizes unnecessary fuel costs.

Deployable Command and Control Equipment (DC2E)

DRASH Deployable Command and Control Equipment (DC2E) encompasses projector systems, audio visual switching systems and system accessories , all designed to facilitate information management on the battlefield.

DC2E equipment is portable and lightweight so setting up and dismantling requires minimal time and few personnel.  Front/Rear Projection Systems are available with Medium, Large, and now Side Mounted Screen Displays. Audio Visual Systems include Mini, Small, Medium and Large variants.  An Intelligent Data Distribution System, Microphone System, Clock System, IPT Remote Monitor and Tactical Utility Field Furniture are additional accessories that complete the DC2E line.

Accessories:

DRASH Accessories enhance the client’s experience within a DRASH Shelter.

All accessories allow for easy installment so military personnel can perform assembly without outside guidance. However, DRASH field representatives are available for onsite support should one require it.
DRASH Accessories include the following items:

  • D- 1000B Heater
  • DrashLite
