Port-A-Cool

Protecting our military heroes since 1990

Our military members deal with many dangers each day. They work around the clock patrolling the streets and countryside, keeping vehicles and aircraft in top working order, and participating in drills and warfare. Often they are required to preform these and many other duties in foreign climates and extreme heat.

High Temperatures and Heat Stress

Research has shown sustained high temperatures can lead to less than ideal work environments where heat stress can lower performance levels, reduce morale, and impair mental alertness. Ultimately, these factors can increase the risk of accidents and compromise personnel readiness.

Along with the mental impairments heat stress can cause the human body, there are several serious physical conditions it can inflict as well. When the body’s normal mechanisms for dealing with heat stress – sweating and temperature control – are lost, severe and potentially life-threatening heatstroke can occur. The main sign of heatstroke is a markedly elevated body temperature (generally greater than 104°F or 40°C). Victims can also experience changes in mental status, which can range from personality changes to confusion and even coma. The victim’s skin may be hot and dry; however, if heatstroke is caused by exertion the skin may be moist.

To avoid heat stress, experts recommend spot cooling and periods of rest in a cool area during physical exertion.

Weighing the Drawbacks of Typical Cooling Methods

Traditionally, air conditioning (A/C) is a go-to cooling method.  However, in large open spaces, the first impediment is the inability to close the space off and seal in air to achieve maximum cooling. Areas where outside doors will be open allow air to escape and render A/C an impractical solution.  Another drawback is air conditioners require compressors and a place to ventilate the heat generated from the compressor. This limits the mobility of an A/C unit given the fixed-ductwork and adds another point of heat generation. Harsh refrigerants and energy consumption are other downfalls. Refrigerants are an integral part of air conditioning systems to emit cool air, and A/C can pull a great deal of energy that translates to more energy expense.

Fans – both oscillating and ceiling options – seem like a quick, inexpensive fix to cooling. However, fans simply circulate stagnate air throughout the space. The air is not chilled in any capacity and cannot reach all areas of the large space to be cooled. In fact, industrial ceiling fans seem to be particularly more effective in the winter to improve heating operations by giving airflow to warm air.

Port-A-Cool Evaporative Coolers

The convenience and portability of Port-A-Cool evaporative cooling units makes them a perfect fit for use in airplane hangers, machine shops, engineering facilities, gymnasiums, cafeterias, gun ranges, barracks and many other locations. Port-A-Cool units do not require chemicals, special outlets, set up, or installation. The units come fully assembled and will only require a standard electrical outlet and a supply of tap water.

A Port-A-Cool evaporative cooler actually works with a supply of outside ambient air to deliver a temperature reduction by as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the humidity. It should be noted, however, that even in the highest humidity regions, temperature drops can occur because as the temperature rises, humidity levels go down.

The technology at the center of an evaporative cooling system is the cellulose pad that collects water. Air passes through the pads and is cooled as the water evaporates. The cellulose pad material is specially treated to prevent rot as well as ensure a long service life. A special water distribution system spreads water over the surface of the pad within the cooling unit to ensure a uniform water supply.  This keeps the entire air-contact surface of the pad thoroughly wet. A control system operates the water pump and distributes the cool air.

Port-A-Cool portable evaporative coolers from Port-A-Cool, LLC provide a natural, highly-effective cooling alternative to fans and air conditioners. Port-A-Cool evaporative cooling products utilize the all-natural evaporative cooling process to cool temperatures by as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. This evaporative cooling process is perfected by the state-of-the-art technology in the company’s KÜÜL® pads. KÜÜL pads, manufactured in the USA, are the high-efficiency rigid cooling media that make all the difference in providing advanced evaporative cooling. Testing has proven KÜÜL pads to perform at superior levels for highest tensile, dry crush, and wet crush strengths per square inch.

Mobile Mark

At Mobile Mark, we understand that military requirements are different, that the antennas will be used in difficult environments and need to be ready for squad deployments, pop-up stations, or communications intelligence-gathering (COMINT).  That’s why our antennas are rugged, durable and reliable.

Mobile Mark  - Military Antennas

We handle the usual and the unusual, from standard products to specialty products. Think if it as “COTS with flexibility”. We offer all the convenience and cost savings of off-the-shelf products but with the ability to tweak the design to better meet your in-the-field requirements.

We have antennas for many commercially available wireless networks as well as antennas for dedicated military frequencies, such as 1350 MHz or 4.4 GHz. Our antennas are designed and manufactured in the United States.

Our in-house Engineering Design Team has years of experience in antenna design.  We can supplement your own engineering efforts and be a valued RF sounding board.  We can help you envision all sorts of ways the antennas can be used, including break-apart omnis and embedded, body-worn patches.

Mobile Mark military antennas comply with Mil specs such as MIL-810G. Our antennas are designed and tested in our in-house facilities located in the US, just outside Chicago.

Mobile Mark offers more than just a wide range of antenna designs, we offer the company behind the antennas: knowledgeable, easy to work with, and ready to be your antenna partner.

visit www.mobilemark.com for our full product line.

Network Antennas (OD-BA, PS18-4900-45, SCR-2400/5500)

Mobile Mark offers omni-directional site antennas in military appropriate colors such as olive drab and desert sand.  Specialized antennas to speed network deployment include the 12 dBi Break-Apart Antenna that can collapse down into two easy-to-carry pieces.  We also offer low profile, compact directional antennas for dependable point-to-point connections.

Embedded Antennas (EM, CVL, PM-1350)

For specialized applications where it is important to track the individual soldier, embedding the antenna directly in the troop’s equipment or clothing has many advantages… and tradeoffs.  We can help you understand what you gain and what you lose with different antenna styles.  Our expertise includes board-only styles as well as slim profile over-molded styles.

Asset Tracking Antennas
(HD7-915, RM w/ Groundplane Rods, SM-U15)

Reliable asset management requires making use of multiple systems: RFID tag readers, Wi-Fi based Bar Code scanning, GPS location systems as well as Cellular M2M (machine-to-machine) transmissions.  Mobile Mark can help you put together the right mix of antennas from site to mobile to covert.

Vehicle Antennas (LTM501, SMW-305, SMD-W)

Mobile antenna selection becomes complicated as new wireless protocols, such as LTE and 802.11ac, are added to the network.  Mobile Mark is the industry leader in multiband antennas; we can combine multiple antenna solutions in a single compact, durable package.  Our mobile antennas meet Military specs for Shock, Vibration, Temperature and Water Ingress.

Specialized Frequencies (ECO9-4700, PSTN2-2200, RMM-1400)

Sometimes a COTS antenna just needs to be tweaked to cover a different frequency or to provide a different radiation pattern.  And, sometimes, the need is so unique that nothing but a customer design will do the job.  Mobile Mark’s team of design engineers can handle it all, whether the design requirement is electrical or mechanical.

Cellebrite Ltd

The Industry Standard in Mobile Forensics

Cellebrite is the market leader in mobile forensics and known for its technological breakthroughs in the industry. Its Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED) is used internationally by law enforcement, military, intelligence, corporate security, special forces, financial services and eDiscovery agencies in more than 60 countries, to obtain data from more than 10,000 device profiles.

Cellebrite’s range of mobile forensic products, UFED Series, enables the extraction, decoding and analysis of actionable data, whether intact or deleted, from a wide range of mobile devices including: feature phones, smartphones, portable GPS devices, tablets and phones manufactured with Chinese chipsets.

With offices in North America, APAC, Europe and the Middle East, Cellebrite provides technical assistance and support advice 24/7.

Obtaining Evidential Data From Mobile Devices

The data stored in mobile phones reflects virtually every activity in which users engage every day; who they have spoken to, where they were last, who they were texting, what apps were downloaded and who their most popular contacts are. In situations where a mobile device has been seized for evidential value, investigators require forensic tools that can extract as much data as possible in a forensically sound manner.

UFED Touch is a stand-alone, portable, easy-to-use touch screen device which enables the forensically sound extraction of data from more than 10,000 device profiles. These include the world’s most popular platforms –BlackBerry, iOS, Android, Nokia and more.

Supported data types include applications, passwords, chats, images, multimedia messages, SMS, email, instant messaging, locations, calendar entries, contact details and more.

UFED Touch is available with either an 'Ultimate' or 'Logical' license. The Ultimate license provides users with the most advanced capabilities to perform physical, logical and file system extractions of intact, deleted and hidden data, and passwords.

The Logical license is a solution for first responders and triage purposes, allowing users to perform fast and simplified logical extraction, and analysis of intact data.

The First Responders Kit for Mobile Forensic Triage

When time is of the essence, first responders require simple tools to quickly and accurately acquire important data from mobile devices. The UFED Touch Logical is easy-to use, suitable for non-technical investigators and comes fully equipped with everything a first responder needs anytime, anyplace; a suite of software applications for simple analysis and reporting, and a set of hardware tools including device connector tips and cables, for fast and secure data extraction.

UFED Applications - Analysis and Decoding of Mobile Data

The “golden hour” of an investigation – when evidence is freshest – is the ideal time to develop critical investigative leads.
UFED Series enables users to exploit this opportunity to the fullest.

UFED Physical Analyzer is the most advanced analysis, decoding and reporting application in the mobile forensic industry.
Features include malware detection, project analytics, timeline graph, and much more.

With Cellebrite’s UFED Link Analysis, users can immediately identify and visualize the connections and communication methods used between multiple mobile devices, based on data extraction reports.

UFED Reader enables users to share analysis reports with other authorized personnel including colleagues, other investigators, lawyers etc.

UFED Phone Detective is available with all UFED versions. It helps investigators quickly identify a mobile phone by its physical attributes, eliminating the need to open up the phone and risk phone lock.

The Forensic Industry Votes for UFED

Cellebrite's UFED Touch has been awarded for the following:

  • 'Best Phone Forensic Hardware' – Forensic 4cast Awards 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012
  • Industry Innovator – SC Magazine 2012
  • 5 Stars Recommended Product – SC Magazine 2013

Everything You Need for Successful Investigations

UFED Touch comes with either a standard or ruggedized kit. The kit contains a full range of peripherals and accessories for thorough mobile device investigations; purpose-designed lightweight data cables - the phone connector tips, SIM and Micro SIM ID cloning cards, Micro SIM adapter, UFED forensic memory card reader, integrated long-life battery, external hard drive and more.
