David Brown Santasalo USA marks two decades in business

In late 2020, David Brown Santasalo USA marked 20 years as a leading supplier of service and repair to major industrial markets across the USA.

Since operations began in 2000 as a service support facility in Greenville, SC, DBS USA has delivered service, repair and overhaul to customers in the Fiber & Paper, Rubber, Rendering & Dewatering, Food & Beverage, Wastewater, and Sugar as well as Steel Industries. This significant milestone demonstrates the solid presence DBS USA has in the region and the strong relationships we have built in these industries.

Growing from a sales support role in 1999, DBS USA has seen steady development throughout the years. Continued expansion of DBS services to our customers to ensure our future and widen our customer base has been significant. In 2013, we incorporated the repair of competitor gearboxes to our services, this service addition involved moving to our current Greer facility, which added 20,000 square feet to our workshop space.

Since then, DBS USA has gone from strength to strength and in early 2020, we completed a significant expansion project which increased the Greer footprint by 18,000 square feet. The result of the expansion project delivered two assembly areas: a Main Assembly Bay with a 60 ton crane along with two 10 ton cranes under 26' hook height. A secondary Assembly Bay houses a 20 ton crane with two 10 ton cranes also under a 26' hook height. Further service enhancement was achieved with the dock installation and the ability to load and receive directly under cranes.

We have continually provided support to our customers, whether in the field or from our service center facilities. Our team of 34 employees have been instrumental in our success by reinforcing our commitment to quality customer service. Our Outside Sales Team provide in person customer support and are supported by an Inside Sales Team who provide critical support and service. Our Manufacturing Team consisting of Engineering, Service Mechanics, Field Service Technicians, Quality Control and Logistics, all providing highly skilled service in a state-of-the-art facility.

In December 2020, DBS USA positioned itself for capitalizing on West Coast USA business through the acquisition of our new Salt Lake City (SLC), Utah service center. The addition of a 27,000 square foot SLC service center is an exciting new chapter for the business, as it will enable us to serve our customers in a centralized western coast location. It will allow us to expand into additional industries, including Mining & Minerals with Dragline and Shovel Applications, Aerial Lift Equipment and Pumps and facilitate our current base through our localized center.
